Today we learned about how to add to 100 to help up mentally subtract two numbers.  In P.E. we had to skip with the kindergartners.  On Wednesday we get out at 2:00.

Today we learned about maps and that some are big and some are small.  We get out at 2:00 on Wednesday, December 21, 2011.

Today we went to the care center.  We read to the residents there.  It was fun and we wished them a Merry Christmas when we finished reading.  In Music we watched part of "The Santa Clause 3".  It was funny!  We have a late start on Monday.

In Social Studies we learned about the seven continents.  We put them in order from biggest to smallest.  Asia is the biggest and Australia is the smallest.  In Guidance, it was funny when Mr. Clay said, "BOOM!"  There are only 8 days until Christmas break!

Today we learned about the globe.  A globe is a model of the earth and shows water and land.  There are 7 continents.  In math we used a hundreds chart to help us add two digit numbers.  It's kind of like a map!  We get out of school at 2:00 on the 21st for winter break.

Today in math we learned how to use mental math to add ones and tens.  We learned that first we add the ones, then we add the tens.  We can't ever have more than 9 ones!  In PE we are starting the push up club.

In Grammar we are learning about verbs.  Verbs are actions words which means it's stuff you can do.  We practiced writing sentences with verbs today.  Don't forget!  The Christmas concert is coming up next Tuesday, December 6!

Today we learned a new math card game called A-Ten-Tion.  It was fun!  We are supposed to say if the number is odd or even.  The first person to get 100 points, wins the game.  In PE Mr. Eaton thought we said "pair of shoes" instead of "parachute"!  We start reading the book "The Mouse and the Motorcycle" today as a whole school.
