In math we are learning mental addition.  Today we learned how we add the tens first in our heads then add the ones.  In reading our story is "Abuelo and the Three Bears".  There are a lot of Spanish words in it!  In music it was funny when everybody slapped their sides and it made a loud noise!  Our Christmas concert is on Tuesday, December 6, 2011.

Today we started a new topic in Math.  We are learning about mental math.  We played a card game where we had to make tens.  Our Christmas concert is next Tuesday at 7pm.

Braxton and Diego

Today we learned about the Pilgrim's trip on the Mayflower.  There were 102 people on the boat and it took 66 days to get to America.  We saw the One Act play this morning.  We went to the 4-6 grade vocabulary fashion show this afternoon.  It was funny!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today we learned about the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Indians on the Internet. We learned that they both had to pick up firewood and carry water. The Pilgrims lived in houses and the Wampanoags lived in wetus.

Tomorrow we are going to the 4th grade's Vocabulary Fashion Show and the One Act play. We are also going to watch the movie Rio!

We learned that if you are counting money and you have more than one dollar you need to write an s with a line through it for a dollar sign. You also need to write a decimal and then the cents. There is no school on Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.

Brooke

Today in Math we learned how to count coins AND dollar bills and dollar coins. It was fun! We are also learning the right way to write the dollar sign and use a decimal point. The decimal point means "and". In computer lab we did math games on www.abcya.com.

Olivia

Today we presented our wind catchers in Science. In Guidance we learned about not bullying. We get out at 2:00 on November 23 and there is no school on the 24th and 25th for Thanksgiving break.

Elle

Today in Science we made our own wind catchers. It was funny when Ella made a wind catcher hat that looks like a sun!

Jonathan and Brooke

Today in math we counted coins. We learned that you count coins starting with the biggest amount to the smallest. Important news: Thanksgiving is coming up!

Andres

Today we went to the Veteran's Day Assembly in the gym. We learned about soldiers from Wakefield. In Math we played Quiz Show boys vs. girls. The girls won. We have a late start on Monday.

Susana

Today in math we learned that you have to write a "c" with a line through it to make a cents sign. We do that so we know it's money. It was funny in guidance when we were watching a bullying movie and Diego shouted, "Stop bullying now!" We have a late start on Monday the 14th and we get out at 2:00 on the 23rd for Thanksgiving break.

Today we learned how to use an ELMO. This ELMO does not mean like the red puppet ELMO. This one is a camera that you can put stuff under and it shows up on the SMARTboard. Cool! It was funny in PE when we were doing the parachute and everybody kept on pulling the parachute when they were not supposed to.

Today we took a math test about place value, then we played math games. Mrs. Schlickbernd read us the book Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving. It was funny! Thanksgiving is coming up!

Diego and Andres

Today in math we reviewed odd and even numbers and took a practice test about place value. It was funny in Music when we played musical chairs! Remember to bring back your book orders. They are due on Tuesday, November 8.

Cataleena

In math we learned about odd and even numbers. We discovered that if the ones is even or odd, then the whole row going down on the hundreds chart will be even or odd! It was funny during Guidance when Mr. Clay said, "Hey! Give me my peach!" Some of us have bad weather information sheets for moms and dads to fill out.

Brooke and Adrianna

Today we learned about South America. Students from Wayne State College came and brought a HUGE map that they laid out in the gym. We had to take our shoes off in order to stand on it. They showed us different parts of South America. In P.E. it was funny when we were playing freeze tag and Christian yelled, "Get Ella!" because Ella was the last one it.

Olivia

Today we learned that we will have farm pen pals to write to. It was funny when everybody got tickled by their streamers in science. There is no school on Monday, November 7, 2011.
